Overview
As the world wrestled with the coronavirus crisis, an existential threat unparalleled in modern times, Candlestar worked with teNeues Publishing to create Confinement, a publication that presented new work created in response to the pandemic by over 40 celebrated photographers previously shortlisted for the Prix Pictet award. Each image presented a highly personal response to the Covid-19 crisis, accompanied by the artist’s own words, creating a unique and compelling set of responses to the particular challenges posed by the pandemic.
The publications included essays by the historian Peter Frankopan and the novelist Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi and was accompanied by its own dedicated website showcasing the work.
